I’m a little blue, missing my house and friends and mimosas and Pannukaaku and egg dyes and the smell of vinegar and most especially my friends. Mikko and I painted some eggs using watercolors and beet juice. We are planning a lazy day of reading and playing games and maybe not ever leaving the house. It’s nice, but….
Those of you in Portland in July. I’ll be having my easter party then. Could someone save some egg dyes for me?

Happy Easter, Linea, Matthew, & Mikko!
We BBQ’d and have two of Keith’s Navy buddies visiting from Texas and Florida so it has been festive, but no traditional Easter. They are watching college hoops, and taking naps after eating a massive feast of ribs, greens, mac and cheese, baked beans, & strawberry shortcake. I am ready for a nap, myself, but don’t want to give up on the idea of having an easter egg hunt for the kids before it gets dark. I better get on it! Sunset is in less than an hour! Thanks for the bright pictures. I will catch up on the rest of the blog later…it’s good to know that beets are good for something (besides eating which does not happen in this house).
Love to all, Jacquie
Aww, hell, Linea — it was definitely not the same here without you. I did my TAXES. That’s how boring life is without you — taxes on Easter Sunday??!!!
The good news is, I finally got a passport and I’m going to email you about possibilities for April.
You should put a link to kayak on your blog roll.

Linea and Mikko,
What beautiful eggs. You two are so clever.
Jacquie & Mary,
Nice to hear about your Easters, also.
We missed the egg hunt this year but visited with old friends and that’s always a treat.

I miss knowing that you live near me in Portland my friend - but I LOVE reading your blog each week. Makes me feel so close to you and I feel like a real traveler as I read through your adventures. Don’t worry about missing Easter in Portland - it’s freezing cold here right now. They say it will snow in the city tomorrow - 3 days after Easter!
